This weekend is a big one for Philadelphia and for Strands. We’re going to be at the co-working space Indy Hall for a Strandup on Saturday at 6:30pm ET (which we’ll be livestreaming here, and taking plenty of video from). Then on Sunday, it’s Indy Hall’s 1 year Anniversary!!!! Yay!!!!! Go wish them Happy Birthday, pwease!
We’re going to get a chance to meet a ton of new people, spread some Strands love, and perhaps help some people find new friends.
If you’re not sure what a Strandup is, go check out the site and watch a few of the videos from Seattle. Want one in your city? Tell us!
We’re putting tons of video up, too…Be sure to check out Kalong’s Daily picks, videos of Eric Rice rapping, John parasailing, and more!
Send in your videos too, you can upload them to Viddler and tag them with “strands” and we’ll pick em up.
See you on the Interwebs y’all.

There are moments when I want to immediately share a picture with all my friends. I don’t carry around my camera everywhere nor a laptop to upload. So what do I do? I use my cell phone.
For those with camera phones, all you need is an account with Flickr and Strands. After you add your Flickr to Strands, find your Flickr email address:
1. Log in or create a Flickr account
2. Go to http://www.flickr.com/tools
3. Click on upload by email.
4. Obtain the address
Now, take a picture and send it to the Flickr email address you obtained. Your friends will be able to comment, like or dislike about your picture even before you have the chance get to your computer!
This is the Strands way to communicate! Show your friends where, who and what you are doing instantly!

So fast, so cool, so sweet

Hello friends. My name is Kalong and I work at Strands. Find me at www.strands.com/kalong I am on the marketing team and I also help monitor the Strands community. I love my job and I love almond mocha fudge ice cream.
This is my first blog entry on here and honestly, I have no idea what to write about. What do you guys think I should write about? I’ll write about anything relating to Strands as long as it doesn’t involve the technology behind it..that would make for uber short blogs.:-) But I am taking ideas. What would you like me to write about on this Strands community blog? New features? Trends? You? Share your thoughts and feelings with me, and I will make it happen. Comment below! Adios amigos!

Check out the video below to learn the special StrandShake that’s sweeping the nation. Ok, small parts of the nation that know what Strands is. Ok…basically there’s like 10 people who know about it until now. So go change that!
Sarah Lacy, Olivia Hine, John Rogers and me (from Strands!) show you how it’s done.

So Louis Gray pointed out some interesting things in a post today that featured Strands. How awesome is that?
Go join his conversation there!
We have a lot of work to do and we totally know that…that’s why you’re so important to us. Keep the feedback coming, keep the ideas coming, keep the honesty coming.
It’s Your Strands, afterall.

Hi Friends, this is the first of many posts on the brand new community blog for Strands (woo hoo!!). This is where we’ll talk about what’s going on with the Strands Discover site, the things we’re doing in our communities, and most importantly… you!
We’ve started livestreaming on Ustream.TV (ustream.tv/strandstv) and have already had some great sessions. We’d love to co-host with some of our fans on Ustream — so if you wanna be a rock star, tweet @strands and we’ll hook it up! All of the videos will be posted here after they are recorded so you can come back and watch yourself over and over and over
Also, this is where we’ll post all the episodes of our new show, YourStrands! It’s a community show all about you, the cool stuff you share, the things you do in the community, and what’s hot on Strands.
And as always, if you’re not already on Strands drop us an e-mail or give us a tweet and we’ll get you rolling.
