If you haven’t already played with it, give it a try and let us know what you think (we will be releasing version two soon, and would love to incorporate some of your feedback and suggestions). With this version you can catch a quick glimpse of what your friends are up to, comment on and rate the things they are sharing, and save posts for later viewing. And, if you are a Twitter user, you can use the app to let your twitter followers know when you comment, rate, or save posts on Strands.
We are very proud of what our mobile team has put together here, but don’t just take our word for it — check out what some others have said, and give it a try for yourself!

Today we’ve released a pretty awesome upgrade to how you can search on Strands.com
You will now be able to:
- Search strictly within your network
- Search by category (Blogs and Notes, Bookmarks, Videos, etc) within your network
- Sort network results by most recent, most commented, and highest rated
Why is this important?
A lot of people search on Google and never get past the first 2 pages, because the results are not relevant to them. Strands search now makes shared items even more relevant by finding what you’re looking for, and only from the people you care about and follow if you choose.
By sorting these results, you can dig deeper and make the results even more relevant.
Not only that but you can filter your search by the type of stuff you’re looking for. Just want videos? Go for it. It doesn’t matter what service someone uses to share videos, you’ll pick them all up. We know that not everyone uses YouTube for videos, and use other sites like Hulu to express their tastes. And that’s what makes Strands rad.
We’re taking a really unique approach to things with Strands, and with your help we’re getting better and better every single day.
One of the most important things about Strands.com is our community. When our community speaks, we listen. You wanted to take Strands on the go, and we’re giving it to you. We’re proud to announce the first step to full on mobilization of the Strands.com experience.
Starting now, you can enjoy Strands.com on your iPhone and iPod Touch by visiting http://m.strands.com
With this version you’ll be able to:
- View recent activity from your friends
- Check and reply to your inbox messages
- Like and dislike things in peoples Strands
- Comment
- View images and click on links to blog posts and bookmarks
- Check out recommended posts
- Save things for later viewing once you get to your computer
And this is just the beginning.
Why is Mobile so important to us? Because it’s become more and more of a necessary experience for those that like to do things online. People are no longer tethered to desktops in the office…they have ultra slim laptops and now smarter phones that function as miniature computers.
I’m at the Mobile 2.0 Conference today, and a lot of the talk from Firefox and Opera representatives have been about how strong the web can be as a platform for applications, so this falls right in line with that thinking.
We’re very excited to share this with you as we’ve wanted this experience as well. Keep an eye out for more mobile fun, as I think we have the most amazing, talented, and experienced mobile team in the world!
