You can tweak what type of stuff of your friends that you want to follow. Say I don’t want to see what books that MG reads anymore, it’s super simple to fix that right up from his profile.
You can now also add people to groups easier than ever.

Operation mainSTREAM is gaining steam and we kicked it off with a contest.
We asked people to invite their non-geek friends to Strands, and the people who invited the most folks during the month of October won some prizes. One for them and one for their non-geek friends.
Today, we know who the winners are, and we’d like to thank them for joining our Operation mainSTREAM efforts and for showing folks how rad Strands is.
Email me at drew at strands dot com to claim your prize!
We’ll be doing more contests, don’t you worry. Keep spreading the love of technology to non-geeks and please keep spreading the Strands love! Never worry, we love you back even more.
We’ve gotten some e-mails over the past few days from people asking about seeing who they follow, so I wanted to shed some light on the “People I Follow” page on Strands. From this page you can see a listing of the people you follow, whether they are mutual (follow back), and also fine tune the filters for each of them. Check it out:
From here you can uncheck any of the green boxes to filter out content you don’t want to receive from someone, and if you want to exclude the music they casually listen to throughout the day you can uncheck the “Just Played” box below (personally, I find this extremely useful!). Doing this will filter the content coming through the taste-stream you see on your Strands dashboard, but if you view their profile directly you can still discover this content.
Another tool I use on Strands to help me keep the people I follow organized is the groups function. I add people to groups (sometimes multiple) so that when I am looking at my friends on the dashboard, I can quickly and easily discover the content from the people I choose.
You can create as many groups as you want by clicking on the icon that looks like 3 friends, and if you want to stop following someone completely all you gotta do is click on the “disconnect” button to the right. All of this can be found by going to http://www.strands.com/settings/connections/i-follow, or by clicking “settings” and then using the menu on the left to navigate to “you follow”.
